Doing everything in love, go and do likewise!

Min-Y-Don Update - Thursday morning

We have been really busy over the last two days and seemed to have packed in an awful lot. There are four activities each day, beginning at 10am and finishing at 8:30pm when we get a bit of wind down time to do diaries, have our end of day Epilogue, then finish with a drink and biscuit before bed at 9:45. As we are active and outdoors there have been no problems sleeping, only with getting up!

The Min Y Don overalls and drying room have been a Godsend today as we have needed them. We have had a couple of bumps and scrapes today, but nothing out of the ordinary or that has resulted in tears – so far so good!

Charlotte and Vilte were absolute stars on the High Ropes today as they both showed great determination to do activities which really worried them. “Jelly Legs” Schofield also managed to make it up to the Leap of Faith, not only once but twice! A great achievement and it’s lovely to see their confidence blooming. During the bike ride this afternoon there were lots of confident riders on the skills course and it was great fun tearing through the puddles too. Archie and Lila took a tumble when their bikes collided and Jesse also did a flip but all are fine. During Bushcraft Freya and Eve learnt the top tips for survival in the wild, then decided to make a rocking horse for their den! With determination in the dampness all were successful with lighting fires too. In the Archery, all the groups really enjoyed it, with Team Valour beating Mystic Arrows and Flying Onions. Rachael H and Nathan looked very confident and got some high scores. Rock climbing was hard, but Molly completed the medium challenge very quickly, then managed all three along with William – excellent climbing! Niamh made a great effort to complete the medium challenge too. Crate climber of the day was Nicky with 23 crates, followed closely by Amani and Oscar with 20. Nadia showed the most improvement with her number of crates too. Canoeing was really wet and at the end, Nicky and Mackenzie were pushed out again, then capsized their boat and got soaked in the water! Luke`s quote was “One of the best activities so far,” which is impressive considering he was nervous about going out on the water.

The evening activity was ‘Kicking the Can’ which was a massive game all over the Min Y Don site and now we are all hoping for a really tasty tea…
