Key Priorities in 2025-26

Curriculum and Teaching (Quality of Education)
Key Priority 1
Embed clear curriculum progression so that pupils build knowledge and skills step by step, with defined outcomes across all subjects.
Key Priority 2
Accelerate progress in Writing by strengthening vocabulary development, sentence construction and extended writing, using explicit teaching strategies and regular opportunities for purposeful writing.
Key Priority 3
Continue to raise achievement in Maths by improving fluency, and arithmetic, ensuring that a greater proportion of pupils achieve age-related expectations or above.

Attendance and Behaviour
Key Priority 1
Increase pupil attendance to at least the national average, with a particular focus on reducing persistent absence and improving punctuality for vulnerable groups through targeted intervention.
Key Priority 2
To strengthen the school’s culture of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), ensuring that all pupils feel safe, respected and represented, and that policies actively promote fairness, tolerance and a sense of belonging for every child.

Personal Development and Wellbeing
Key Priority 1
To strengthen pupils’ personal development and wellbeing by embedding a whole-school approach to character education (intentionally teaching values, attitudes, behaviours etc.), mental health, and resilience, ensuring that every child is prepared to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Achievement (Impact of Education)
Key Priority 1
Ensure that pupils reach ambitious outcomes in Reading, Writing and Mathematics, and Foundation Subjects
Inclusion (including SEND)
Key Priority 1
To strengthen the identification, provision, and outcomes for pupils with SEND, ensuring that inclusion is embedded across the curriculum and that all pupils can achieve ambitious end points.

Leadership and Governance
Key Priority 1
Ensure that all school leaders, governors, and staff fully understand, engage with, and align practice to the new Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF), launching in November 2025. This includes preparing to demonstrate excellence across the newly defined inspection areas—Curriculum & Teaching, Attendance & Behaviour, Personal Development & Well-being, Achievement, Inclusion, Leadership & Governance, and Safeguarding (judged as ‘Met’ / ‘Not Met’)

Effectiveness of EYFS
Key Priority 1
Provide a language-rich environment and high-quality continuous provision to secure strong foundations for KS1.
Key Priority 2
Improve outcomes in communication and language, early writing, and early maths, to support outcomes in GLD.
