School Uniform
Whilst we want to make sure all pupils are comfortable and happy at school we do ask that all pupils come to school dressed in the correct school uniform, this includes PE Kits only being worn on the days pupils are doing these lessons. This helps build our school community and provides unity among the pupils. Please see the correct uniform requirements by visiting the school uniform page. 

PE
The children will have one 50-minute PE lesson each week. This will be on Wednesdays. 
On days where the children have P.E., children should come to school dressed in their P.E. kit consists of:
• trainers/pumps
• black or blue shorts/leggings/jogging pants (plain with no logos or pictures)
• a white t-shirt
• a sweatshirt/cardigan/fleece/hoodie (plain - no pictures)

Long hair should be tied back and earrings should be removed. If this is not possible, earrings should be covered with a plaster. Unfortunately, should your child come to school without their earrings covered or their hair tied back, they won't be able to join in with the lesson due to safety regulations.


Forest School
Forest school will take place during the Autumn Term, September - December. It will be on Thursdays. Children should come to school in their PE kit with hair tied up and earrings removed or covered as above. Please ensure your child has a waterproof coat and suitable footwear, such as wellies to change in to or old trainers. 

Homework
At Chester Blue Coat C.E. we expect that every child will do their best and work incredibly hard throughout the school day. Therefore, we keep homework expectations to a minimum.
 
However, in Year 2 we expect children to complete regular reading and maths tasks at home. Details of which can be found below. 

Reading homework 
In Year 2 we encourage children to enjoy a book and read to an adult at least four times a week. This can be their reading book from school or something else from home such as their own book, or a magazine/comic. Please make a comment and/or sign your child's reading record, or on the Pageticker app if they are in 2R, along with the date so that we know they have read. If you would like more support for what to write in your child's reading record, please speak to Miss Russell. 

Children also benefit greatly from listening to adults and older children read stories to them, so snuggle up and enjoy books together. Being read to develops children's understanding of story structure as well as vocabulary, A great way to do this is also through audiobooks. Many library memberships offer free audiobooks as part of their service.
